The European Parliament Gypsum Forum
Modern governments and citizens want to know about resource use, to ensure security of supply and protect the natural environment. The European Parliament Gypsum Forum, established in 2012, works with EU parliamentarians to encourage a shift towards sustainable building practices, from extraction and construction to demolition and recycling.
Gypsum to Gypsum
Speed and ease of assembly and finishing mean that building with gypsum is economical and fast. The unique properties of gypsum, including the fact that it can be endlessly recycled while maintaining a high quality, improve the overall eco-efficiency and sustainability of gypsum buildings. The Gypsum to Gypsum project raises awareness that gypsum is one of the very few "eternally recyclable" construction materials, meaning that product waste can be reused to remake the product.
The European Network for Sustainable Quarrying and Mining
Modern methods of construction are about better products, systems and processes. They should aim to improve business efficiency and quality, customer satisfaction, environmental performance, sustainability and delivery time. The European Network for Sustainable Quarrying and Mining, or ENSQM, is a multi-stakeholder project part-funded by the EU. It aims to enhance good quarrying and mining practices, including by managing environmental and social impacts.
